THIS Blog
ABOUT THE SITE
The purpose of this Blog is to involve the Armenian youth in Armenia to think and write critically. Hence, this blog is dedicated to and brought to you by the Armenian youth.
It is ever so important to encourage and stimulate the indigenous viewpoints and opinions which are held by the people in Armenia. Until now, there are several interesting blogs inside Armenia which are primarily developed by foreigners and Diasporans. I myself am the administrator of the site and am a Diasporan as well. However, my goal is to involve the youth to contribute to this site, express their viewpoints and include their articles. As you can see now (February 2006), most of the articles on this site are contributed by me. The goal for this project is that it develops and transforms into a blog site which includes articles and posts primarily brought to you by the young Armenians, as mentioned above.
Also if you are interested in other activities for youth in Armenia, please do check out the website for Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution Resource Center www.peacebuilding.am .
Changes cannot be made overnight of course. Yet, it will take time and I hope this project will just get the ball rolling…
FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR
Voghchoyn tzez! Greetings to you!
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tamar and I am the administrator of this site. I am currently studying in Armenia on a U.S. Fulbright Scholarship and the focus of my individual research here is to study the role of the Armenian youth in the country’s processes of democratization. My research interests are what led me to develop this site. I am also currently working as the Youth Coordinator for Civil Society Institute. Do check out our organization’s websites:
Civil Society Institute www.csi.am — Human Rights in Armenia www.hra.am — Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution Resource Center – www.peacebuilding.am
As you can probably tell with the quality of the design of the site, I am not the biggest computer and internet geek. Yet I do hope the quality of the posts and comments are what attract you to keep checking on the post to see what’s being said. I do intend to get as many local Armenian youth involved in contributing to this site as much as possible. Thus, feel free to contribute!
I would like to let you know that all opinions are welcome and there is no discrimination based on political, religious, racial or any other views. Yet just as a word of caution, “unkind words” towards a certain individual, group or people are not allowed. Please keep your comments in a clean language.
Thank you!
Happy reading! Enjoy!
